Your Guide to Snagging Wimbledon 2027 Tickets

The 2026 Championships wrapped up this weekend with Jannik Sinner and Linda Noskova hoisting the trophies, and while thousands of fans camped overnight for day-of entry, there's a smarter way to lock in your spot for 2027. The main route is the official ticket ballot, designed to give everyone a fair shot without the famous queue. Here’s the breakdown on how to play it right.
The tournament runs from June 28 to July 11, 2027, with qualifying a week earlier. To enter the ballot, you’ll need a myWimbledon account on the Wimbledon website and must opt in to ticket-related emails. The ballot typically opens in September or October 2026 and stays open for a few weeks, so mark your calendar for autumn. Successful applicants usually hear back around February 2027, getting an email with their assigned court and date. You’ll then have a deadline to pay in full—otherwise, your tickets go to someone else. A few key rules: you can apply for up to two tickets per household, and submitting multiple entries from the same address gets you disqualified. Tickets are non-transferable, so the lead applicant must show photo ID at the gate on the day.
The ballot is random, so you can’t request specific dates, courts, or seats—you might end up with early-round passes or finals spots. If you want control, buy from a Debenture holder (a Wimbledon investor) on an online platform, or book a hospitality package through official provider Keith Prowse, usually released around August. As for resale tickets, they’re not allowed on standard sites. But if you lose the ballot, you’ll get access to the Ballot Returns Shop via your myWimbledon account, where returned passes from winners, media, and sponsors pop up from March onward—sometimes as late as 24 hours before a match. They’re in high demand, so you’ll need quick reflexes.
There’s also the American Express ticket draw, but you must have entered the official Wimbledon Public Ballot and been unsuccessful first. When setting up your myWimbledon account, tick the box to receive updates from Amex. In February, you’ll get an email inviting you to apply for the Amex Ticket Draw—it’s not automatic, so you must sign up. You’ll need to be an Amex cardholder and use your card to buy the tickets if you win, with a 48-hour window to purchase. This story originally appeared in Condé Nast Traveller UK.
