Yamal Keeps Subsidized Airfares Frozen Through Early 2027

Air travel subsidies will continue in Yamal, with ticket prices holding steady through the first quarter of 2027, according to the regional government's press service.

"For Yamal, aviation is the main link to the mainland. That's why it matters to us that flights stay affordable for Yamal residents. The district government continues to subsidize routes, hold down ticket prices for all residents and keep discounted tickets for children from large families," Governor Dmitry Artyukhov said in remarks from a meeting with the leadership of Yamal airline.

Fares will not be indexed or raised in the first quarter of 2027, and social support measures will remain on all subsidized flights. Tickets for children from large families cost 2,500 rubles, and a special rate under the "Moroshka" program will also stay in place.

Subsidized routes connect Salekhard, Nadym, Novy Urengoy and Noyabrsk with Moscow, St. Petersburg, Tyumen, Yekaterinburg, Sochi, Ufa and other major Russian cities. Tickets are sold for both directions, and schedules are built around seasonal demand.

The regional government added that by summer 2027 the airline plans to finish refurbishing aircraft cabins under its investment program, and the carrier is preparing to launch a mobile app.
