World Cup Visitors to the US Can Grab These New eSIM Deals from Major Carriers

When the FIFA World Cup kicks off in the US this June, host cities are bracing for a wave of international visitors. To help them stay connected without racking up hefty roaming fees, the country’s three biggest mobile carriers have rolled out eSIM plans tailored for short-term stays.
These plans work on unlocked phones and offer coverage ranging from seven to 45 days, including calls, texts, and data. For anyone coming to the US for the tournament—or just visiting—here’s a quick look at what AT&T, T-Mobile, and Verizon’s Visible brand are offering.
AT&T’s eSIM is data-only for now, with no talk or text included. Plans start at $4 for one day and go up to $41 for 30 days. Hotspot access is limited to 5GB. The company says full talk and text will arrive soon, but hasn’t set a date. To activate, travelers need an unlocked 5G phone and the Connect on Demand app. AT&T also offers a Turbo add-on to boost stadium connectivity.
T-Mobile’s Prepaid US Pass eSIM includes unlimited talk and text across the US, Canada, and Mexico, plus 50GB of high-speed data. Hotspot data ranges from 14GB on the $25 seven-day pass to 50GB on the $50 30-day option. Activation is through the T-Mobile Prepaid eSIM app.
Visible, Verizon’s prepaid arm, is running a World Cup promotion. Its eSIM Travel Passes include unlimited high-speed data on Verizon’s 5G Ultra Wideband network, but no hotspot. Plans start at $15 for seven days (with code FIFA10, valid through June 10) and top out at $45 for 45 days. Each pass includes unlimited texting to over 200 countries and a set amount of international calling minutes. Taxes are included in the price.
Before buying, it’s worth checking coverage maps for the cities you’ll be visiting. Each carrier has strengths in different regions.
