Where Russians Can Travel Without a Visa This Summer

Russian tourists still have a solid list of visa-free options for the summer of 2026, but an expert warns that 'no visa' doesn't automatically mean easy travel. Flight availability and seasonal weather are key factors, says Anastasia Goncharova, founder of the TravelЗависимость agency.

Turkey remains the top choice, she notes, for its value, wide range of hotels, direct flights, and reliable infrastructure. For travelers seeking a budget-friendly beach holiday with all-inclusive resorts, Egypt is an alternative, though service can be inconsistent.

Neighboring countries like Georgia, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, and Kazakhstan are convenient for short trips focused on food or active exploration, but aren't primarily beach destinations.

Goncharova suggests reconsidering overlooked spots. Morocco offers ocean views, vibrant culture, and options for both relaxation and adventure. May and June are ideal for sightseeing, while July and August are better for the coast. Tunisia, though with limited flights from Russia, still appeals for its sandy beaches.

In Asia, Vietnam is a comfortable summer pick with direct flights, but stick to areas like Nha Trang. Sri Lanka, Thailand, and China are also visa-free but come with a high chance of summer rain. Bali is excellent in summer, though its best beaches are few; plan for an active trip moving between locations.

The Maldives can offer good deals during the lower summer season, though sporadic rain is common year-round.

The expert advises against travel to the Middle East for now and recommends avoiding itineraries with connections through the UAE, Qatar, Bahrain, or Oman due to regional tensions.
