Vladivostok Sees Surge in Domestic Travel as Russians Seek New Horizons

MOSCOW, April 12 – Interest in holiday packages to Vladivostok has jumped significantly this year. According to Semyon Livshits, head of the Russia, Abkhazia, and Belarus division for tour operator Russian Express, demand for trips to the Far Eastern city doubled in the first quarter compared to the same period last year.
"I'd say it doubled. The base numbers weren't huge, but still. It's twice as interesting now," Livshits told RIA Novosti. He clarified the data covers January through March of this year.
While bookings for Vladivostok aren't flooding in, Livshits confirmed a clear and growing interest from Russian tourists. He attributes this shift to traveler fatigue with traditional vacation packages. "Vladivostok offers something new and intriguing, and it's right here in Russia," he noted.
The average price for a guided tour to the city, including flights and hotel stay with breakfast, runs between 100,000 and 110,000 rubles per person, Livshits shared.
This trend is part of a broader exploration of domestic destinations. Livshits pointed to rising popularity for cities like Rybinsk and Nizhny Novgorod, as well as classic Golden Ring stops such as Yaroslavl, Kostroma, Uglich, and Myshkin. The data suggests a growing appetite among Russians to discover the lesser-known corners of their own country.
