Vietnam Introduces Electronic Arrival Cards for Visitors, Including Russians

The Russian Embassy in Vietnam has clarified that new entry rules for Vietnam are not yet mandatory for travelers. According to the embassy's Telegram channel, the introduction of electronic arrival cards, which came into effect on June 22, is currently in a trial phase. This means that Russian tourists and other visitors can still pass through border control at Vietnamese airports without the cards. However, they may be required to fill out an electronic declaration form on the spot if requested by immigration officials. The embassy notes that in the future, these electronic arrival cards are expected to become compulsory. The introduction of the cards was announced on June 19, and they can be obtained through the Vietnamese immigration service's portal no earlier than 72 hours before entry into the country. For now, travelers can proceed with their trips as usual, but it's essential to be prepared for potential requests from immigration officials. As Vietnam continues to develop its entry procedures, visitors should stay informed about any updates or changes to ensure a smooth journey.
