Ukrainian Drone Strike Hits Russian Museum Where Festival Was Planned

A festival, campaign, and masterclasses were set to take place at the Sambek Heights museum in Russia's Rostov region, but the event was disrupted when a Ukrainian drone struck the museum's territory on Saturday. According to preliminary reports, there are casualties. The museum, which covers an area of almost 14 hectares, was scheduled to host a festival called 'Wings of Glory' to commemorate the birthday of Soviet aircraft designer Petr Petrovich Petlyakov, as well as an action called 'Height of Victory' and masterclasses conducted by the museum's creative laboratory. The Sambek Heights museum is a popular destination, featuring a memorial complex, a museum with an exhibition on the Great Patriotic War, a permanent display of wartime equipment, and a church. The incident occurred despite the planned events, which were intended to attract visitors to the museum. Governor of the Rostov region, Yuri Slyusar, confirmed that a Ukrainian drone had hit the museum's territory, resulting in preliminary reports of casualties. The museum was established in 2020 by veterans' and public organizations to commemorate the Great Patriotic War.
