Turkish Summer Getaways Face Steep Price Hikes, Tourists Advised to Budget Accordingly

Russian travelers planning a summer holiday in Turkey should prepare for significantly higher costs, according to a key figure in the country's tourism sector. Bekir Dolmuş, a representative of the tourism industry in Alanya, stated that hopes for cheap deals this season are unrealistic.

"Russian tourists should not harbor illusions about affordable prices for the upcoming summer season," Dolmuş told RIA Novosti. He pointed to the ongoing crisis in the Middle East as a primary driver, explaining that the conflict has created substantial economic uncertainty for tourism. The situation is increasing business costs across the board, from energy and logistics to food supplies. These rising operational expenses will directly impact the final price tag for vacationers in the summer of 2026.

Domestic inflation within Turkey is applying additional pressure, Dolmuş noted, forcing hoteliers to raise rates to cover their own growing expenditures. Despite the cost increases, Turkey remains a leading destination for Russian tourists. Dolmuş emphasized that demand from this market is still vital for local businesses, sustained by the abundance of direct flights, popular all-inclusive resorts, and well-developed tourist infrastructure. The country has recently been characterized as a relatively safe and accessible option compared to other regions, even as broader regional tensions contribute to making it a more expensive one.
