Turkish Hotels Slash Rates Up to 20% to Lure Russian Travelers

Turkish hoteliers are rolling out discounts of up to 20 percent on accommodations for Russian tourists, aiming to keep rooms filled amid fierce competition in the market. Akın Beke, a Bodrum-based tour operator and member of the Turkish Association of Travel Agencies (TÜRSAB), told RIA Novosti that properties are working hard to maintain high occupancy throughout the season.

Beke explained that hotels are focusing squarely on Russian visitors because they remain the most valuable segment for Turkey’s tourism industry. The discounts come as a strategic move to sustain demand, especially after a sluggish start to the summer season from European travelers.

Earlier reports confirmed that Turkish hotels had already lowered prices for Russian guests this summer, with some reductions reaching 20 percent. The price cuts reflect a broader trend: weak European interest in Turkish holidays this year has pushed resorts to pivot toward the Russian market, which has historically been a reliable source of bookings. For Russian tourists eyeing a sunny getaway, the timing couldn’t be better.
