Turkey Wildfires: No Danger to Beach Resorts, Tour Operators Confirm

Wildfires continue to burn in Turkey’s tourist-heavy provinces of Antalya and Mugla, but resort areas and hotels remain safe, according to the Association of Tour Operators of Russia (ATOR). The group told RIA Novosti on Monday that no complaints have been filed by travelers and that the situation poses no immediate threat to vacation spots.

ATOR officials stated that the blazes are contained to mountainous regions far from coastal resorts. “There is no risk to hotels or tourist zones,” a representative said. “We have received zero complaints from tourists, and there is no smoke haze over Antalya’s beaches. In Mugla, the resort areas are also untouched.” The fires’ epicenters lie high in the hills, well away from popular hotel strips and beachfronts.

Russian tour operators are staying in close contact with Turkish tourism authorities to monitor the situation. ATOR added that it will issue updates as official information becomes available. For now, travelers can continue their holidays without disruption, as the flames remain distant and contained to forested highlands.

The reassurance comes amid heightened summer wildfire risk across the Mediterranean, but Turkish officials and tour companies stress that no evacuations or changes to travel plans are needed for those staying along the Antalya and Mugla coasts.
