Turkey, Egypt, and UAE Top Russian Summer Travel List, Says ATOR

Russian travelers are showing clear favorites this summer, with Turkey, Egypt, and the United Arab Emirates emerging as the most sought-after outbound destinations, according to Arthur Muradyan, vice president of the Association of Tour Operators of Russia (ATOR). The UAE, in particular, has seen a surge in demand since restrictions on tour sales were lifted three weeks ago, with bookings climbing several times over.

Vietnam is also making waves, thanks to peak season in resort areas like Nha Trang, Cam Ranh, and Da Nang. Muradyan predicts this year will set a new record for Russian tourist flow to the country. As for costs, a week to nine-day trip for two to Turkey or Egypt starts at around 110,000 to 120,000 rubles. China’s Hainan Island runs from 140,000 to 150,000 rubles, while Thailand and Vietnam average 150,000 to 160,000 rubles. The Maldives remain the priciest option, with prices beginning at 250,000 to 300,000 rubles.

Muradyan notes that trip length varies by destination: shorter-haul spots like Turkey, Egypt, and the UAE typically see stays of 7 to 9 days, while long-haul destinations in Southeast Asia and the Indian Ocean islands average 10 to 12 days. Sightseeing tours, he added, usually wrap up within a week. The data underscores a robust summer season for Russian outbound tourism, driven by pent-up demand and seasonal highs.
