Turkey and Egypt Top the List for Affordable May Getaways, Says ATOR

If you’re planning a foreign holiday this May and watching your budget, Turkey and Egypt are your best bets. According to the Association of Tour Operators of Russia (ATOR), a ten-day trip for two to Turkey starts at 83,000 rubles, while Egypt comes in at a minimum of 112,100 rubles. These two destinations offer the most wallet-friendly options for Russian travelers this month.

For those with a bit more to spend—up to 150,000 rubles per couple, including flights—there’s a wider range of choices. ATOR highlights Thailand, Vietnam, China’s Hainan Island, India’s Goa, and Sri Lanka as solid picks. A trip to China starts around 113,900 rubles, Vietnam at 118,500, Thailand at 125,400, India at 139,600, and Sri Lanka at 147,800 rubles.

If your budget stretches to 300,000 rubles, you can aim higher. A ten-night stay on Bali begins at 155,600 rubles, while Langkawi, Malaysia, starts at 176,100. The Maldives, a classic luxury spot, can be had for as little as 203,100 rubles per couple. The Philippines start at 221,500 rubles, Seychelles at 264,600, and Mauritius at 288,100. So whether you’re counting every ruble or ready to splurge, May offers plenty of beach escapes without breaking the bank.
