Travelers' Patience Snaps: Stranded Russians Protest at Istanbul Airport

A group of Russian tourists, stranded for hours at Istanbul Airport, erupted in frustration, chanting "we want to go home" in a protest captured on video. The disruption followed a series of cascading failures that left them without a flight or clear answers.
The trouble began when a vehicle collided with their aircraft, operated by Russian carrier Pobeda, forcing the cancellation of their initial departure. Passengers were returned to the terminal. A promised replacement evacuation flight was also canceled, leaving the group in limbo. Airport staff, according to those stranded, offered assurances of a new flight at 4:00 PM, but travelers checking the information said no such departure was scheduled.
"The result is constant changes with no specifics," one Russian tourist said. "You get the feeling we were being blatantly deceived just to avoid putting us in a hotel and spending money on us." Video shows passengers forming a human chain in the terminal in an attempt to get the attention of ground staff, who reportedly directed them to absent airline representatives.
Earlier reports described passengers sleeping on the floor awaiting resolution. While the airport has denied an incident occurred, the footage and passenger accounts tell a story of a breakdown in communication and customer care, transforming a travel hub into a scene of weary protest.
