Travel Startup Fora Joins Unicorn Club with $60 Million Raise
Fora, the travel agency platform that lets anyone become a travel agent, has secured $60 million in Series D funding, pushing its valuation past $1 billion. The round was led by Forerunner and Tactile Ventures, with additional backing from Insight Partners and Thrive Capital. Since its founding in 2021, the company has raised a total of $138.5 million.
Fora operates as a two-sided marketplace: it gives aspiring travel agents the tools to manage client communications and plan trips, while also letting travelers connect with those agents for honeymoons, family vacations, or getaways to places like Costa Rica or Thailand. The company says its agents have already booked more than $3 billion in travel, and most of them were new to the industry before joining the platform.
Part of the new funding will go toward expanding Fora’s AI assistant, Via, which handles tedious tasks like research and itinerary building. The goal is to free up human agents to focus on building relationships with clients—not to replace them. Fora also plans to hire and expand into new travel categories, including cruises and flights.
