Train Travel Snacks: A Blogger's Guide to What to Leave at Home

A popular Russian travel blogger has sparked conversation with her practical advice on what not to pack for a long train journey. Sharing her tips on the 'Show the World | Travel Stories' blog, she suggested passengers reconsider five common food items to improve their travel experience.
First on her list is instant noodles. Her reasoning isn't the strong smell, but the practicality. 'It's cheap, but if you really want it, you can always buy a cup from the train attendant,' she noted. She advises using precious bag space for more nutritious options instead.
She also warns against pre-made salads or pre-cut vegetables. Dressings can leak, she says, and sliced veggies quickly lose their freshness and appeal. 'It's better to take whole, small vegetables like cherry tomatoes or mini cucumbers. It's more practical,' the traveler suggested.
The blogger's other recommendations include avoiding dairy products, whole smoked or fried chickens, and carbonated drinks. She points out that fizzy beverages can increase thirst and cause discomfort during a trip.
The post follows other recent travel warnings from Russian tourists, including one man's account of a strictly forbidden action on Indian trains that he claimed would lead directly to jail time.
