Tourists Fall Ill After Meal at Popular Paris Restaurant

A group of Russian-speaking tourists ended up in the hospital after eating at a well-known Parisian eatery called New York, according to reviews posted on online maps and reviewed by RIA Novosti. The incident has raised concerns about food safety and access to medical care for foreign visitors.

One reviewer described a severe reaction after ordering a burger with blue cheese. "We got terribly sick at this restaurant from the blue cheese burger. Two hours later, I passed out from the poisoning. Our friend called an ambulance, and they took us to the hospital," she wrote. The woman was dining with her boyfriend and a friend when the symptoms hit.

At the hospital, she faced complications during registration because she is not a French citizen. Still, medical staff provided her with the necessary medication, which helped her recover. Another reviewer, also writing in Russian, offered a blunt warning: "If you want to get poisoned, this is the place."

The restaurant has not yet issued a public response. The case highlights a growing issue in tourist-heavy cities like Paris, where language barriers and non-citizen status can complicate emergency care. For now, travelers might want to think twice before ordering the blue cheese burger.
