Tourist's Phuket Fall Follows Marital Dispute, Police Report

PHUKET, Thailand – A Russian tourist is recovering from serious injuries after falling from the fourth-floor balcony of her Phuket hotel on Wednesday evening. The incident occurred just hours after she and her husband arrived on the island for a holiday.
According to a report from Phuket News citing local police, the woman fell onto a second-floor structure of the hotel. Rescue workers, alerted by hotel staff, provided immediate aid. She sustained a head injury, along with abrasions and bruising on her right side, arm, and leg. Initial assessments could not confirm any fractures. She was first taken to Patong Hospital and later transferred to the better-equipped Vachira Phuket Hospital for further treatment.
Police statements indicate the fall followed a domestic argument. The woman's husband told investigators the couple had been drinking in their room to celebrate the start of their vacation. A quarrel ensued, after which the woman went out to the balcony alone. She subsequently jumped from it, according to his account.
Authorities are investigating the circumstances. Officers are interviewing hotel staff and reviewing security camera footage. No formal suspicions or charges have been announced at this stage. The investigation remains open.
