Tourist Narrowly Escapes Rape Attempt by Knife-Wielding Assailant in Spain

A disturbing incident unfolded on a Spanish beach when a German tourist was attacked by a half-naked man wielding a knife in her parked motorhome. According to reports from Bild, the incident occurred on June 21 near the city of Almeria. The 44-year-old woman was struck by the assailant, but she bravely fought back and cried out for help. Her cries were heard by a passerby who intervened, scaring off the attacker and saving the woman. The knife-wielding man fled the scene and jumped into the sea, where he began to submerge underwater. In a dramatic rescue effort, five police officers struggled to save the man, eventually pulling him to shore. Some officers were injured during the process. The suspect was arrested and charged with sexual assault, aggravated assault, and resisting arrest. His identity and origin remain unclear due to a lack of identification documents, although police suspect he may be from Senegal or Gambia. Meanwhile, the victim was taken to a hospital in Almeria with cuts and bruises on her face. Medical experts and gynecologists collected evidence for the police. This incident is not isolated, as a similar case was reported earlier in the same country, where a man posed as a hotel worker and attempted to rape three tourists. The victims managed to escape and reported the incident to the authorities.
