TikTok Turns Travel Inspiration into Bookable Trips with New 'Go' Feature

If you’ve ever scrolled through TikTok and found yourself daydreaming about a beach resort or a local food tour, the app now lets you do more than just watch. On Tuesday, TikTok announced the launch of TikTok Go, a feature that allows users to browse and book hotels, attractions, tours, and other travel experiences directly through the platform.

To use it, simply watch videos tagged with travel, dining, or local activities. A new booking option will appear, letting you check availability, read details, and complete a reservation without ever leaving the app.

Behind the scenes, TikTok has partnered with major travel platforms—Booking.com, Expedia, Viator, GetYourGuide, Tiqets, and Trip.com—to make the feature possible. “We want to turn those ‘I wish I were there’ moments into real stays,” said Mark van der Linden, Booking.com’s VP of Partnerships.

Adam Presser, CEO of TikTok’s USDS Joint Venture, explained the thinking: “Every day, millions of people discover where to eat, where to stay, and what to do next. TikTok Go connects that moment of inspiration directly to the businesses behind it.”

The feature is limited to users 18 and older. It follows the 2023 launch of TikTok Shop, which lets users buy physical products from brands within the app. With TikTok Go, the company is betting that wanderlust can be just as profitable as retail therapy.
