Thai Hotels Slash Summer Rates Up to 68% in Battle for Russian Travelers

Thailand’s hotel sector is rolling out deep discounts this summer, cutting prices by as much as 68 percent in a fierce push to attract Russian tourists. According to the Russian Association of Tour Operators (ATOR), the aggressive markdowns span from luxury resorts to budget-friendly properties, with Phuket emerging as the top destination among Russian visitors.
Oksana Severina, head of the Thailand desk at tour operator PAKS, notes that while all major beach spots are drawing interest, Phuket remains the clear frontrunner. Discounts are available across the board—from five-star properties like Centara Grand Beach Resort Phuket and Angsana Laguna Phuket to more affordable options such as On Hotel Phuket and Karon Phunaka. A one-week trip for two, including a five-star hotel with breakfast and a flight departing August 6, runs about 203,000 rubles.
For travelers seeking even better value, Pattaya offers a similar package for 153,500 rubles per couple, flights included. Opting for a three-star hotel in Pattaya can bring the total down to 135,000 rubles. ATOR’s latest data also ranks Thailand as the most affordable Asian destination for July 2026, followed by India’s Goa and China’s Hainan Island.
