Sochi Mountain Resorts Develop Package Tours for Chinese Visitors

Mountain resorts in Sochi, working with tourism industry partners, are putting together package offers for travelers from China.
Rose Farm and the Mantera group are preparing packages for both summer and winter seasons, according to Vedomosti Yug. Summer options would combine stays on the coast and in the mountains with excursions and active recreation, while winter packages would include resort accommodation, ski passes and lessons with instructors.
A familiarization visit by Chinese bloggers and tourism industry representatives is planned for late September, aimed at raising awareness of the destination in the Chinese market. Guests would be shown coastal and mountain cluster sites, including resort infrastructure, nature routes and cultural venues, along with hotel capacity and summer and winter services.
Vasily Afanasyev, Rose Farm's deputy general director for international projects, said Chinese interest in Sochi is growing, but overall tourist flow from China remains small. A key obstacle to growth, he noted, is the lack of direct flights.
