Sochi Airport Sees Extended Delays as 'Carpet' Plan Disrupts Travel

Travelers at Sochi airport have been facing significant disruptions, with some flights delayed by over a day due to the implementation of the 'Carpet' plan on June 24. According to reports, a flight scheduled to depart for Samara on June 23 at 10:45 was rescheduled to depart at the same time on June 24, a delay of over 24 hours. Other flights, such as the N4-509 to Tyumen and the FV-6129 to Perm, have been delayed by 22 and 19 hours, respectively. In total, six flights have been unable to depart from the airport, with over three dozen more experiencing schedule disruptions. Some evening flights have even been postponed until June 25. The situation is similarly challenging for incoming flights, with the FV-6206 from Samara delayed by 26 hours and the N4-510 from Tyumen delayed by 22 hours. Flights from other cities, including Kazan, Ulyanovsk, and Nizhny Novgorod, have also been delayed by over 12 hours. The cause of these disruptions is attributed to nighttime restrictions, which have affected over 100 flights to and from Sochi airport. As the situation continues to unfold, travelers are advised to check with their airlines for the latest updates on their flights.
