Sevastopol Tourism Businesses to Receive 590 Million Rubles in State Support

The Russian government is injecting 590 million rubles into Sevastopol’s tourism industry, Governor Mikhail Razvozhayev announced on Friday. The funding, approved by the federal cabinet, aims to stabilize the sector amid ongoing challenges. Razvozhayev shared the news on his Max platform channel, noting that the aid will also extend to businesses in Crimea.
Hotels, sanatoriums, and other accredited accommodations—those listed in the official tourism classification registry—are eligible. So are travel agents and tour operators registered in the federal tourism register, along with food-service providers, including delivery outlets. The payments come with a key condition: businesses must keep at least 80% of their workforce. Specifically, the headcount as of June 1, 2027, must not fall below 80% of what it was on June 1, 2026.
Payouts are calculated per employee, with each staff member worth 81,279 rubles to the employer. The total pot of 590 million rubles is expected to reach hundreds of local tourism-related companies. The measure reflects Moscow’s continued focus on propping up travel and hospitality in the Black Sea region, though critics note the funding is modest compared to the industry’s overall needs.
