Samara Airport Halts Flights Amid New Safety Measures

Russia’s aviation authority has temporarily suspended all takeoffs and landings at Samara Airport, citing the need to ensure flight safety. The restrictions, announced Monday by Rosaviatsia, apply to the Kurumoch airport serving the Volga city.
In a brief statement, the agency said the measures were introduced to protect air operations but provided no details on what prompted the sudden halt. Passengers have been advised to check with their airlines for real-time updates on flight status.
The move comes as Russian airports have periodically faced similar restrictions in recent months, often linked to drone activity or broader security concerns. Authorities have not indicated how long the Samara restrictions will remain in place.
