Russian Travelers Remain Top Spenders in Antalya’s Resort Market

Russian tourists are holding their position as some of the biggest spenders in Antalya, despite shifting travel patterns, according to a regional tourism representative speaking to RIA Novosti. These visitors consistently outpace the average spending of other international guests, with per-person expenses exceeding $1,000 per trip. Davut Günaydın, vice chair of the Association of Turkish Travel Agencies (TÜRSAB), noted that Russian travelers typically outspend other foreign visitors during their stays in Turkey. Industry projections suggest that spending per Russian tourist could reach between $1,300 and $1,500 per visit this season. The official acknowledged that traveler behavior has grown more cautious in recent years, with guests keeping a closer eye on in-hotel costs and being more selective about extras. Even so, overall expenditure levels remain stable, thanks to an expanded range of premium services offered by local businesses. Currency fluctuations and tour operator pricing also play a role in spending trends, the source added. Despite external economic pressures, the sector expects to maintain spending targets through adjusted pricing and updated marketing strategies. Turkey’s tourism revenue climbed 6.8% in 2025 to surpass $65 billion, and the industry has set a goal of $68 billion for 2026.
