Russian Travelers Cool on Turkey’s Top Beach Destination

Fewer Russians are heading to Antalya this summer. According to the Association of Tour Operators of Russia (ATOR), the number of Russian tourists visiting Turkey’s premier beach province dropped by four percent in June 2026 compared to the same month last year.
Local airport data shows that Antalya’s resorts welcomed 1.9 million international visitors in June — a 10.6 percent decline year-on-year. Despite the overall slump, Russia remained the top source market with 569,000 arrivals, posting the smallest drop among key countries. Germany followed with 315,100, Poland with 183,600, the UK with 153,600, and Kazakhstan with 72,700.
Package tour aggregator Sletat.ru reports that the most popular Antalya destinations for Russian travelers were Kemer, Alanya, and Side. The dip comes as no surprise: earlier reports indicated Antalya is losing Russian tourists to rising prices and stiffer competition from Egypt and other Mediterranean beach destinations. Over the first six months of 2026, the total number of Russian visitors to the province fell.
