Russian Travelers Are Booking Early, Seeking All-Inclusive Resorts and Far-Flung Adventures

MOSCOW, Feb 20 – Vacation Affairs. A clear picture of how Russians are vacationing at home is emerging for the 2026 season. Industry leaders report a strong shift toward early bookings, a renewed appetite for all-inclusive packages, and a growing preference for organized tours to unconventional destinations.

Major operators like Anex and Intourist confirm that summer trips, particularly for July, are being secured much earlier than in previous years. The classic draws of beach holidays and health-sanatorium programs remain steady, with the latter attracting a notably younger crowd. The average age for a spa-and-treatment vacation has dropped to 35-40, down from over 60.

“Travelers are looking for a comprehensive experience,” a representative from Intourist noted. “It’s not just about museums anymore. They want interactive formats with masterclasses and outdoor activities bundled into one trip.”

This desire for a fuller experience is changing the geography of domestic travel. Organized tours to see the Northern Lights in Murmansk, whales near Sakhalin, or the volcanoes of Kamchatka are surging in popularity. These aren't quick getaways; the average trip now lasts 8 to 10 nights, signaling that Russians are treating domestic travel as a primary vacation.

The all-inclusive model, once primarily associated with foreign beach resorts, is gaining significant ground at hotels in the Krasnodar region. Meanwhile, with the rising cost of air and rail tickets, more families are opting for road trips to explore the country. Industry analysts also note a rise in solo travel, pointing to a more independent and experience-driven domestic tourist.
