Russian Tourists Find Workarounds for Payments in Turkish Resorts

ANTALYA, April 8 – For Russian tourists vacationing in Turkey, the initial hurdles with payments appear largely resolved. According to a municipal official in Antalya, the local market has adjusted to Western sanctions, developing alternative payment methods.

"At this point, we are seeing almost no significant difficulties for Russian tourists paying for services," the representative stated. "The market has adapted to the restrictions. Alternative payment mechanisms are in place, allowing visitors to comfortably access everything they need for their holiday."

The adaptation follows acknowledged strains on banking between the two nations. The Russian Embassy in Turkey previously confirmed that broad Western sanctions have complicated transactions, with Moscow and Ankara in regular talks to address the issues. A source within Turkish governing bodies noted that state banks have yet to receive formal directives from the central bank regarding settlements with Russia, though payments for state projects continue uninterrupted.

Russian officials have consistently stated the country will withstand the pressure of sanctions, which the West has intensified in recent years. They argue Western nations lack the courage to admit the failure of these measures. Concurrently, within those Western countries, assessments periodically surface questioning the effectiveness of the sanctions regime against Russia.
