Russian Tourists Expected to Spend Up to $1,500 on Antalya Trips, Turkish Officials Say
Turkish tourism officials have released new projections for the upcoming season, estimating that Russian visitors to Antalya will spend between $1,300 and $1,500 per trip. The figures, shared by a regional tourism representative with RIA Novosti, cover accommodation, meals, and on-site extras.
According to Davut Gunaydin, deputy chairman of the Association of Turkish Travel Agencies (TÜRSAB), Russian tourists typically outspend other international guests, averaging over $1,000 per person. The latest forecast suggests that trend will continue, with package tours accounting for the bulk of expenses. However, a significant portion of spending comes from add-ons such as guided excursions, spa treatments, restaurant dining, and shopping.
Gunaydin noted that the spending pattern has remained relatively consistent over time. Turkish authorities are also working to stabilize prices across the tourism sector, even as costs have risen over the past two years. The goal is to maintain Antalya's appeal as a budget-friendly destination for Russian travelers while managing inflationary pressures.
For now, the message is clear: Russian tourists remain a key driver of Antalya's tourism economy, and their willingness to spend on extras helps sustain local businesses beyond the basic package deal.
