Russian Tourist Shocked by Beach Behavior in Vietnam's Nha Trang

A Russian traveler recently returned from Nha Trang, Vietnam's popular coastal resort, with a scathing review that has sparked online discussion. The woman, writing on the travel portal 'Tonkosti Turizma' and shared via the 'Dzen' platform, described her disappointment with everything from local attitudes to beach etiquette.
She complained about what she called 'gloomy and unfriendly' locals, poor service, and overpriced, tasteless restaurant food. But the biggest shock came after sunset. 'After 6 p.m., the beach is largely taken over by locals. That would be fine, except some people—excuse me—urinate right on the sand. It was simply horrifying. After seeing that, you lose any desire to stay,' she wrote.
The woman also struggled with Nha Trang's chaotic traffic. 'Local drivers will come straight at you or whip around a corner without slowing down or even looking. Crossing the road becomes a survival game. After a few days you get used to it, but you can never relax,' she said. She concluded that the service, hotel, food, beaches, and overall atmosphere failed to impress, adding she would not return.
The critique echoes a recent comment by a Russian travel blogger who described Nha Trang as 'like Anapa in peak August,' noting the resort now operates 'by mass-market rules.' For travelers seeking a tranquil Vietnamese getaway, this account suggests Nha Trang may no longer deliver.
