Russian Tourist Dies After Falling Into Coma From Wine Poisoning on Bali Vacation

A tragic incident has unfolded on the island of Bali, where a Russian tourist succumbed to methanol poisoning after consuming local wine. According to reports, the young woman, named Anna, arrived on the resort island on May 31. The next day, she tried some popular local wine, which ultimately led to her hospitalization. En route to the hospital, Anna fell into a coma, and her condition continued to deteriorate. Despite the medical team's efforts to save her, two examinations revealed a complete lack of blood supply to her brain. After 22 days in a coma, Anna's relatives made the difficult decision to withdraw life support, and she sadly passed away. The incident serves as a sobering reminder of the potential dangers of consuming unfamiliar or unregulated beverages while traveling abroad. Authorities have confirmed that methanol poisoning was the cause of Anna's death, highlighting the importance of being cautious when trying local products, especially those that may not meet standard safety regulations.
