Russian Embassy in Mauritius Compiles 'Blacklist' of Travel Agencies Stranding Tourists

PRETORIA, March 6 – The Russian Embassy in Mauritius is sending a formal list of local travel companies to Moscow after numerous reports of Russian tourists being abandoned without support. The move comes as cancelled flights through the Middle East have left travelers scrambling for alternatives.
An embassy representative confirmed the list of agencies accused of failing to meet contractual obligations has been compiled and will be handed to the crisis center at the Russian Foreign Ministry. The list is described as 'quite large.'
'At a minimum, there will be conversations with these firms,' the official stated.
The primary complaint involves companies leaving tourists to fend for themselves, particularly regarding temporary accommodation while awaiting new flight arrangements. With airspace closures across the region disrupting normal travel corridors, reliable local partners have become essential.
The embassy's action highlights the practical difficulties facing Russian tourists abroad amid ongoing regional instability. The focus is now on holding specific businesses accountable for service failures during the crisis.
