Russian Blogger on Islamabad: A 40-Minute Walk for Groceries

Russian travel blogger Elena Liseykina visited Pakistan and described daily life in its capital with the phrase "a 40-minute walk for groceries." She shared her observations on her personal blog "Travels with a Camera" on the Dzen platform.
Liseykina explained that street food in Islamabad is not a problem. The real difficulty is grocery stores. "It seems like a task on the level of 'step out of the hotel for five minutes.' In the end, I walked about forty minutes to the nearest store," the tourist complained.
She also noted that Islamabad turned out to be a very clean and green city, and that foreigners are very welcome there. "I quickly lost count of how many times I was asked to take a photo. Some asked where I came from, others simply wanted a photo together. And always very politely and correctly," the visitor explained.
The traveler reported that Islamabad resembles an "Arab capital" less than Rawalpindi, the city that borders the capital closely. "It's cramped, noisy, everything mixed together, chingchis - local tuk-tuks - race through the streets, and in garages they hand-paint the famous Pakistani trucks. Two cities next to each other - and it's as if they're from different countries," the blogger concluded.
Earlier, Liseykina said that in Israel locals go grocery shopping in pajamas. Apartments there are also colder in winter than outside.
