Russia Reopens Middle East Travel: Tour Operators Get Green Light

The Russian government has lifted its recommendation to avoid selling tour packages to the Middle East, paving the way for Russians to travel to countries in the Persian Gulf. According to the Ministry of Economic Development, the decision was made in response to changing circumstances in the region. As a result, tour operators can once again offer trips to Bahrain, Qatar, Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates, Oman, and Saudi Arabia. However, travelers are being advised to exercise caution and stay informed about local conditions, with the ministry recommending that tourists remain vigilant and up-to-date with official announcements in case new security threats emerge. The ministry is also requiring tour operators and travel agents to keep clients informed about the current situation in their destination country. This move follows a similar decision by the Russian Foreign Ministry, which recently withdrew its warning against traveling to the Persian Gulf states. The ministry cited the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the US and Iran as the reason for no longer seeing a need for the warning. With this development, Russians can now look forward to exploring the rich culture and history of the Middle East once again.
