Russia Proposes Expanding India Flights to 71 Weekly

RIA NovostiTuesday, October 20, 2026

Russia has proposed increasing the frequency of flights between Russia and India to 71 per week, according to Russian Ambassador to India Denis Alipov.

Alipov said S7 (Siberian Airlines) and Ural Airlines are actively working on launching regular flights to Delhi from Novosibirsk and Yekaterinburg. He added that Russia expects a response from its Indian partners.

The ambassador noted that demand for expanded air links is real, as Russia is interested both in growing passenger volumes and broadening the geography of its routes.

Separately, President Vladimir Putin said on October 1 that high-tech cooperation remains the most promising area for Russia and India. According to him, events are organized with the consent and support of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi where Indian importers present goods they could bring to the Russian market, and Russia is ready to continue such work.
