Russia Plans Talks on Direct Flights to Barbados, Guyana Deal in the Works

Russia intends to discuss launching direct flights with Barbados, while a similar agreement with Guyana is still working its way through government approval, according to Andrey Pritsepov, Russia's ambassador to Barbados, Guyana, Grenada, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, and Trinidad and Tobago.
The ambassador said the draft air services agreement between the Russian government and Guyana's government is undergoing interagency review in Moscow - a process he noted typically takes time. He declined to predict a signing date but said the matter remains under close watch.
Pritsepov also said that during talks with Egbert Field, director general of Guyana's Civil Aviation Authority, both sides agreed that establishing direct air links sooner rather than later would serve the interests of both countries.
