Russia Day Weekend: Where Moscow Travelers Are Heading This June

As Russia Day approaches, Moscow’s airports are gearing up for a busy holiday weekend from June 11 to 14. According to reports from Sheremetyevo, Domodedovo, and Vnukovo, travelers are booking tickets to a mix of domestic favorites and international hotspots.

Among the most popular destinations from Moscow are St. Petersburg, Antalya, Novosibirsk, Kaliningrad, and Sochi. Domodedovo Airport reports strong demand for flights to Novosibirsk, Yekaterinburg, Bishkek, Yerevan, and Tashkent as well. Airlines S7 and Ural Airlines are operating popular routes to Kaliningrad, drawing passengers seeking a Baltic getaway.

Vnukovo Airport, which handles a larger share of international traffic, sees Turkey leading foreign bookings. Antalya and Istanbul top the list for overseas travelers, while domestic passengers from Vnukovo are flying to St. Petersburg, Sochi, and Mineralnye Vody.

Whether it’s the canals of St. Petersburg, the beaches of Antalya, or the cultural scene in Novosibirsk, Muscovites are making the most of the long weekend. With warm weather and a four-day break, it’s no surprise that both familiar spots and emerging destinations are seeing a surge in bookings.
