Qatar Airways Launches Emergency Flights for Stranded Passengers

Qatar Airways is running a special series of flights this week to help travelers stranded by the ongoing regional conflict. The limited operations, scheduled for March 10, 11, and 12, will connect Doha to major hubs including London, Dallas, Istanbul, Mumbai, Madrid, Moscow, and Toronto.
The airline emphasized these are not a return to normal service, but a temporary measure to reunite passengers with family and friends. "Qatar Airways scheduled flight operations remain temporarily suspended due to the closure of Qatari airspace," the carrier stated on March 9. Regular flights will only resume once authorities declare a full and safe reopening.
This partial resumption follows a week of airspace closures after Iran launched drones and missiles into the region. The Qatar Civil Aviation Authority (QCAA) has approved specific emergency corridors, coordinated with the nation's armed forces, to allow these flights to proceed safely.
Access is currently restricted to passengers with original bookings disrupted since the attacks began. The airline is contacting eligible travelers directly and urges others not to go to the airport without confirmed seats. Teams are working to add more relief flights where possible.
Passengers with bookings between February 28 and March 22, 2026, can make two complimentary date changes or request a full refund. Travelers should ensure their contact information is current via the Qatar Airways website or app. The next official update is expected March 10.
