Putin-Inspected Superjet Wows Crowds at Indian Air Show

A Russian-made Superjet aircraft, which recently caught the attention of President Vladimir Putin, has become a star attraction at an air show in India. According to reports, the plane was a major hit at the event in Hyderabad, with visitors flocking to see the impressive aircraft. The Superjet, which features a fully import-substituted design, was inspected by Putin during a meeting on the aviation industry in Zhukovsky, outside Moscow. The president even took a tour of the plane's cockpit, and it appears that his seal of approval has helped to generate significant interest in the aircraft. India's Minister of Civil Aviation, Ram Mohan Naidu Kinjarapu, also took a close look at the plane during the air show, and was impressed by its capabilities. The Superjet is a short- to medium-haul narrow-body aircraft that is being developed as part of a program to replace imported systems and components with domestic alternatives. Putin has praised the progress being made in the development of new Russian civilian aircraft, including the Superjet, saying that they have already surpassed their Western counterparts in many areas and are now ready to compete successfully in the global market.
