Pop Star Dua Lipa May Have Picked a Sicilian Palace for Her Wedding

Even if you try to tune out celebrity news, some stories just take over. The latest event set to flood social feeds with envy-inducing images? The wedding of the year. Pop star Dua Lipa and actor Callum Turner are reportedly planning a lavish ceremony, and sources say the venue could be one of Europe’s most stunning hotels: Villa Igiea, a Rocco Forte property in Sicily.

The couple visited the Italian island last summer, squeezing in a sunny escape between Dua’s world tour and Callum’s acting projects. Their trip made headlines quickly—every stop they made went viral. Patrick Lanzino, manager of the bar Botteghe Coletti where they stopped, told The Times: “She drank Campari soda, he drank an Old Fashioned, and they ate olives while playing cards. She was very sweet and they seemed like a normal couple.”

Villa Igiea has a fascinating history. Originally known as Villa Domville, it was bought in 1899 by the Florio dynasty, one of Sicily’s most powerful families. They planned to turn it into a sanatorium for their daughter, who had tuberculosis, but instead created a luxury hotel. Today, it offers spacious bedrooms and plush suites with views of the Mediterranean Sea. Guests enjoy authentic Italian food in restaurants overlooking the water, and unwind at the opulent Irene Forte Spa between dips in the shimmering pool.

We’ll be watching for all the wedding content. Bring on the photos, Dua.
