Passengers from Emergency Landing in Makhachkala Finally Depart for Moscow

RIA NovostiMonday, June 22, 2026

A reserve plane carrying passengers from a 'Pobeda' flight that made an unexpected landing in Makhachkala has taken off for Moscow. The original flight, which departed from Gyumri, Armenia, was headed to Moscow when it issued a distress signal over Dagestan. The plane safely landed in Makhachkala due to a false alarm triggered by a malfunctioning decompression sensor. According to Flightradar24, the emergency signal was sent out on Monday, prompting the aircraft to make the unscheduled landing. Fortunately, all passengers are safe and have now been transported to Moscow on a reserve aircraft. The 'Pobeda' airline confirmed that the reserve plane, operating as flight DP-856 from Gyumri to Moscow, departed Makhachkala at 16:39 Moscow time. An investigation into the incident is likely to focus on the faulty sensor that caused the unnecessary landing. The safe departure of the passengers will come as a relief to those affected by the disruption, who can now continue their journey to Moscow.
