Palm Beach Airport Gets a New Name: Trump International

Travelers flying into South Florida’s Palm Beach airport will now see a new name on the terminal. As of Thursday, the facility officially became the President Donald J. Trump International Airport. The change, approved by local officials, swaps the previous regional branding for a tribute to the 45th president.
The airport, a gateway for visitors heading to the wealthy coastal enclaves of Palm Beach and West Palm Beach, is located just a few miles from Mar-a-Lago, Mr. Trump’s private club and residence. Supporters of the renaming say it honors a leader who spent significant time in the area and brought international attention to the region. Critics, however, argue the move politicizes a public transportation hub.
The name shift follows a trend of airports and infrastructure being renamed after political figures, though this one is notably immediate. For now, the facility’s code (PBI) and its runways remain unchanged, but signage and online listings are being updated. Whether the new title sticks with frequent flyers or becomes a talking point at baggage claim, one thing is certain: the airport now carries a name that sparks conversation.
