Nutritionist names common in-flight mistakes that worsen your well-being

Frequent flyers often leave the plane feeling tired, thirsty, headachy and puffy. Nutritionist Anna Pedorich of Coral Club says these symptoms usually come down to a few avoidable errors during the flight.

One of the biggest is choosing the wrong drinks. Coffee and alcohol are strong diuretics, so drinking them while the body is already losing moisture only speeds up dehydration, she warns. Onboard meals are another culprit: to keep their taste at altitude, they're loaded with extra salt and fast carbs. Excess sodium holds fluid in tissues, leading to visible swelling in the face and legs, while simple carbs can stir up fermentation in the gut, bringing heaviness and discomfort.

Sitting still for hours is the third mistake. It gradually slows blood flow, especially in the lower limbs, causing heavy, stiff legs and worsening puffiness.
