Nashville's Best Hotels: Where Music City Tells Its Stories

Nashville is a city built on storytelling, and its hotels have joined in. The best places to stay in Music City now connect guests to the city's history, its land, and its music - and no two are alike.

The Countrypolitan, a Hotel Indigo property, makes music part of its essence with a lobby bar and restaurant hosting live music daily, plus a small boutique curated by Nikki Lane. The Untitled prizes creativity, with three art galleries and a staff curator offering tours; it sits near The Arcade, Printers Alley, and Lower Broad. BODE Nashville offers apartment-style rooms with up to four bedrooms, an on-site bar that draws locals, and a walkable location.

Salt Ranch, opened in 2026, is an updated motel and swim club with small, sleek rooms priced so groups can book their own rooms and gather at the bar, restaurant, or pool; it sits on more than two acres with free parking and a fenced dog park. The Chloe in Hillsboro Village, in the former home of Asylum Records, has 19 individually decorated rooms and a neighborhood feel, with locals holding pool memberships. SongTeller, Dolly Parton's hotel with an attached museum, weaves her touches throughout - musical notes in the carpet, her songs hourly in the lobby, photos in every room - and hosts singer-songwriters in its Listening Room and jazz in Jolene's bar.

The Hutton Hotel, recently renovated, caters to music makers with on-site writing rooms near Music Row, plus a spa and the Analog music venue. Union Station, a former train station standing more than 125 years on Broadway, anchors the new Nashville Yards neighborhood near The Pinnacle venue. 1 Hotel Nashville, opened in 2022, emphasizes sustainability with reclaimed wood, live plants, and a rooftop bar. The W Nashville in the Gulch offers live music, yoga, a large L-shaped pool, and restaurants from chef José Andrés.

The Russell, a 115-year-old former church, retains stained glass windows, and each room has a different shape and size. The Graduate near Vanderbilt University offers quirky art, karaoke with an animatronic band at Cross-Eyed Critters, and a rooftop pink chicken-wire bust of Dolly Parton - though the singer isn't involved with the hotel. The Conrad's grand lobby and Midtown location offer luxury and a respite from downtown congestion. The Hermitage, the city's gold standard for over a century, marked the 19th Amendment's centennial and completed a renovation of its rooms, lobby, bar, and restaurant, with its Drusie & Darr overseen by chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten.
