Moscow’s Dream Island Expands Outdoors, Aiming for Global Top Five

Moscow’s Dream Island amusement park is about to get a whole lot bigger—and it’s setting its sights on a spot among the world’s largest. Founder Amiran Mutsoev announced that the outdoor section will open for technical previews on July 11, with a full official launch timed to Moscow City Day. Once this expansion is complete, Dream Island will rank among the top five parks globally by number of mechanical rides. The total will exceed 60, and the number of themed worlds will grow to 15.
The new outdoor area already features 20 of the park’s tallest rides, plus five additional themed worlds. The headline attraction is the “Legend of the Peaks” roller coaster, which stretches over a kilometer in length and hits speeds up to 110 kilometers per hour—making it the longest and fastest coaster of its kind in Russia. Other highlights include a 68-meter free-fall tower, a pendulum ride swinging at the height of a 10-story building, a 600-meter monorail coaster, and a 12-meter water slide that mimics raging river rapids.
Mutsoev says the outdoor rollout will be gradual over the first month, with a single ticket covering both the indoor and outdoor sections. “This is a strategic milestone for Dream Island and our biggest expansion yet,” he explained. “We’ve been steadily adding rides since opening, and the outdoor section is a natural next step. You wouldn’t believe how many messages we got asking us to open outside—we’ve been preparing for this.”
All new rides are designed for Russia’s climate and built to strict safety standards. True to tradition, Mutsoev and park staff will be the first to test them.
