Moscow to Host Thai Festival and Business Forum, Blending Culture and Commerce
Moscow is set to welcome a vibrant slice of Thailand this summer, as a three-day Thai festival kicks off on July 31 at the Hermitage Garden, with a dedicated business forum the day before. The event, organized by Moscow’s Department of External Economic and International Relations, aims to showcase Thai culture, cuisine, and tourism, while also fostering trade ties between the two capitals. The opening ceremony on July 31 at 6 p.m. will feature the Thai ambassador to Russia and Moscow officials, followed by a concert from renowned Russian jazz musician Igor Butman.
Over the course of the festival, visitors can enjoy live performances from Thai university music and dance troupes, as well as a special “Chud Thai” costume show in partnership with Moscow Fashion Week. A sprawling market will spotlight Thai craftsmanship—handmade textiles, home decor, and decorative arts—alongside interactive workshops led by local artisans. Food lovers can explore a dedicated gastronomic zone offering authentic Thai dishes, exotic fruits, and regional specialties, plus cooking classes that dive into Thailand’s culinary traditions. The festival also dedicates space to promoting travel across Thailand’s provinces, giving Muscovites a taste of potential vacation destinations.
On July 30, the business forum “Moscow–Bangkok Business Dialogue” will take place at the Moscow Chamber of Commerce, providing a platform for direct B2B meetings and networking sessions. The Thai delegation includes representatives from jewelry, pharmaceuticals, health products, food processing, and other sectors, all seeking partnerships with Russian counterparts. Attendees can explore new projects, discuss investment opportunities, and connect with government officials. Admission to both the forum and festival is free, but registration is required for the business sessions. Organizers hope the dual event will strengthen cultural understanding and economic cooperation between Russia and Thailand.
