Moscow's Vnukovo Airport Hands Out Water and Mats During Flight Restrictions

Moscow's Vnukovo Airport has rolled out extra services for passengers after introducing temporary restrictions on flight arrivals and departures. The measures, which took effect at 3:20 p.m. local time on Sunday, mean all incoming and outgoing flights now require special approval.
To keep travelers comfortable during the wait, the airport is distributing bottled water and floor mats. According to a statement from Vnukovo, mats are available in the clean zone near departure gates, while water can be picked up at the information desk in the main terminal or on the third floor waiting area.
Beyond the basics, Vnukovo is offering a range of amenities to ease the delay. Families will find play areas for children, a round-the-clock mother-and-child room, and a medical station. Travelers can also recharge devices at nearly 30 charging stations scattered throughout the terminal, or grab a drink from water fountains.
For those seeking extra comfort, the airport provides business lounges and capsule hotels where passengers can rest or work. The airport says it remains focused on passenger well-being as it coordinates flights under the temporary restrictions.
