Moscow-Dushanbe Train Service Restored After Two-Year Hiatus

Travelers can once again embark on a journey between Moscow and Dushanbe, as the passenger train service between the two cities has resumed operation. The train, which was suspended in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, will now run twice a week. Departing from Dushanbe on Sundays and from Moscow's Pavелецкий station on Thursdays, the journey takes approximately four days to complete. The train passes through several countries, including Tadjikistan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and Russia, with stops in various cities such as Bухара, Нукус, and Самара. Tickets for the train can be purchased 45 days in advance through the Russian Railways website, mobile app, or at ticket offices. The restoration of this service is a significant development for travelers between Russia and Tadjikistan, who currently have access to three other train services operated by ГУП 'Рохи Охани Точикистон'. The Moscow-Dushanbe train service is set to depart from Dushanbe at 3:25 local time and arrive in Moscow at 22:08 Moscow time, while the return journey from Moscow will depart at 6:05 and arrive in Dushanbe at 2:48 local time. With the reintroduction of this service, passengers can look forward to a convenient and relatively frequent connection between the two cities.
