Moscow Braces for Severe Storms as July Arrives with a Bang

Residents of Moscow are in for a wild ride as the city is expected to be hit with strong winds, hail, and heavy thunderstorms on July 3. According to Evgeny Tishkovets, a leading specialist at the Fobos weather center, the storms could bring up to 65 millimeters of rain in just 24 hours - roughly three-quarters of the monthly average. The first few days of July are expected to be warm, with temperatures reaching up to 31 degrees Celsius. However, this heatwave will be short-lived, as a cold front is set to move in on July 3, bringing with it the severe weather conditions and a significant drop in temperature to around 19-24 degrees Celsius. Looking ahead to the rest of the month, Tishkovets noted that July is likely to be 1-2 degrees warmer than usual in Central Russia, but with a deficit of precipitation. This could have significant implications for the region's weather patterns in the coming weeks.
