Moscow Airports Halt Operations Amid Safety Concerns

In a sudden move, all four major airports in Moscow - Sheremetyevo, Vnukovo, Domodedovo, and Zhukovsky - have temporarily suspended their operations. According to the official Rosaviatsia Telegram channel, the restrictions on accepting and releasing aircraft were put in place at 12:33 Moscow time to ensure the safety of flights. This decision was made in response to concerns over air traffic security. Additionally, several other Russian cities, including Bugulma, Kazan, Nizhnekamsk, Cheboksary, and Izhevsk, have also closed their airports temporarily. Earlier, Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin announced that the city's air defense systems had shot down 84 unmanned aerial vehicles approaching the capital over the past 24 hours, successfully preventing any damage or destruction. The temporary closure of the airports is a precautionary measure to guarantee the safety of passengers and air traffic. As the situation continues to unfold, travelers are advised to check with their airlines for updates on flight schedules and operations.
